What do you enjoy most about working at EVMCHS?

The best parts of teaching at EVMCHS are, of course, our unique students and staff. We are a warm and welcoming place and, as teachers, we can get to know and support every student in ways that are not possible in larger schools with large class sizes. I love that we can take students in ninth grade who are not confident in themselves and their ability to learn at high levels, and within three years help them to transform themselves into confident college learners on the cusp of promising adulthoods.

When you're not being an amazing teacher, what are some hobbies you have outside of EVMCHS?

It surprises people to know that I see myself foremost as a poet and lover of poetry. This is the way I start every day, reading and writing poetry.  I love homemaking and creating welcoming meals for family and friends in my self-maintained garden.  I am the mother of one lovely young woman, who is becoming a college counselor, and a wife of nearly 30 years. I cherish theater and other arts and have been a member of a woman’s writing and art community for 30 years.
