I was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. I moved to San Diego to complete my B. A. in Composite Literature (English and Spanish) and later my M. Ed. at UC San Diego. Prior to working at East Village, I was an English teacher at Language Academy for a year.
What I enjoy most about teaching at EVMCHS is being able to make meaningful connections with students as we build a thoughtful classroom community and work with colleagues to create interdisciplinary approaches to our learning goals.
In my free time I enjoy reading; some of my favorite genres are horror, mystery, magical realism, and fantasy. I also like to paint and work on my indoor garden.
