Our Vision

"Top Tier, Four Year"

EVMCHS: WE SHARE YOUR DESIRE FOR ACADEMIC ADVANCEMENT

Here at East Village Middle College High School (EVMCHS), our vision is for students to develop their own four-year course of study. Students take college classes on the campus of San Diego City College (up to 11 credits per term) in accordance with an academic plan created uniquely for them. Our dual enrollment, middle college structure allows students to complete UC/CSU general education coursework while still enrolled in high school. Top EVMCHS students regularly graduate with 40+ college credits and gain acceptance to "top tier, four year" universities in California and throughout the nation.  With our accelerated quarter-system schedule, College-Alignment Calendar and Associate's Degree pathway, EVMCHS students are provided a platform in which the completion of ALL  Intersegmental General Education Transfer Curriculum (IGETC) coursework for the UC/CSU systems and a two-year degree can be completed in high school free of charge. EVMCHS enrollment represents the most advanced course of study offered within SDUSD.

Our Vision

East Village Middle College High School students embrace a college-going mindset and achieve independence, confidence and academic knowledge. EVMCHS provides a rigorous, supportive academic and social environment which encourages students to become active participants in society. Our students develop skill sets to become lifelong learners who empower themselves and contribute to their community. Through the development of effective communication skills and self-determined goal setting strategies, EVMCHS students succeed in college and beyond.
